Der komplett geschlossene, sich im Inneren des Hauses befindende Transitraum Lift ist ein Raum, dessen Bewegung nicht gesehen wird. Die Bewegung ist nur anhand von Anzeigen ersichtlich oder durch einen leichten Ruck spürbar. Die erfolgte Bewegung wird erst erfahrbar, wenn man den Lift wieder verlässt und sich in einer anderen Etage des Hauses befindet.
Die Arbeit zeigt die Aufwärtsbewegung des Lifts und die Leichtigkeit, mit der Stockwerk nach Stockwerk überwunden wird. Beides sind wesentliche Inhalte der Arbeit. Die Farben der beiden Knäuel ergaben sich durch die Arbeit von Reiner Ruthenbeck „Red Lift – Blue Lift“, Documenta IX (offiziell) / 1992.

The lift, a completely enclosed transit room located inside the building, is a room whose movement is not seen. The movement can only be seen/perceived by means of displays or felt by a slight jolt. The movement that has taken place can only be experienced when one leaves the lift and finds oneself on another floor of the building.
The work shows the upward movement of the lift and the ease with which floor after floor is overcome. Both are essential contents of the work. The colours of the two balls were inspired by the work of Reiner Ruthenbeck “Red Lift – Blue Lift”, Documenta IX / 1992.
