The Glovebox System entices passers-by to dissolve the boundary between inside and outside. A shop window protects the presented goods from the touch of desire.This boundary is removed in Rainer Nöbauer’s installation. Passers-by can penetrate the pane and reach directly into the display. With the Glovebox system, which is used primarily by the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, it is possible to have haptic contact with the goods offered by “Hackl Lederwaren”. Passers-by can influence the display of the things. The longing this evokes is not fulfilled, however, because taking possession remains an illusion. (Text: Paolo Bianchi)

Das Glovebox-System verführt zur Aufhebung der Grenze zwischen innen und außen. Ein Schaufenster bietet den präsentierten Waren Schutz vor dem Zugriff der Begierde. In der Installation von Rainer Nöbauer ist diese Grenze aufgehoben. Die Passanten können die Scheibe durchdringen und unmittelbar in die Auslage eingreifen. Mit dem Glovebox-System, das vornehmlich in der chemischen und pharmazeutischen Industrie zum Einsatz kommt, ist es möglich, einen haptischen Kontakt mit den angebotenen Waren von „Hackl Lederwaren“ zu haben. Die Passanten können auf das Display der Dinge Einfluss nehmen. Das evozierte Verlangen löst sich nicht ein, denn die Besitzergreifung bleibt Illusion. (Text: Paolo Bianchi)
